A boy and his dog

Andrew had a blast taking Decker on a walk in our front yard.  He was laughing so hard and Decker enjoyed it to even though in the pictures she doesn’t appear to be having fun.  Andrew and Decker weigh the same right under 30 pounds.
Decker puts up with Andrew well, it is hard to believe that Decker is at least 7 years old now and still jumping fences.

Andrew reading teddy a bed time story before teddy’s nap.  Teddy is sleeping in his crib the laundry basket with a pillow, the white blanket and balloons tied to the crib.
I am so excited Andrew displayed a great pre-reading skill.  He read the book to teddy with the correct words on each page.  We read this book “Freight Train” often at night and when I read it I try to get him to read it to me because it has very few words and is very simple.  He won’t read for me but he will for teddy and for Lily.

When I was in my teaching grad school classes I took several classes that focused on teaching kids to read.  I really enjoyed the material since I knew one day Andrew would learn to read.  He is still too young but it gets me excited watching him learn and progress naturally on his own.
