Bluebonnets

Last year in the bluebonnets.
Wow, how the times have changed.
Today I took Andrew to our bluebonnet spot for a few pictures. Andrew did not enjoy the photo shoot. Here were some of the shots we got. Thankfully not of the bluebonnets have bloomed yet. So maybe I will be able to get Bobby out there for a family picture.

When we got Andrew decided he wanted to put his jacket on. It was around 80 degrees today outside. It was cute to see him make his own decision about what to wear. It reminded me of last year as a teacher, boys in my class would wear jackets outside in 90 degree weather, because it was cool.

Today I got Andrew a pair of flip- flops from Target. This was the reaction I got....
He was terrified of the flip- flops. Time will tell if he warms up to them. Right now he is just like his dad, not a flip- flop fan.

Today was a long day. Goodnight

Leaving on a Jet Plane

This past week and weekend, Andrew, my mom and I went to St. Joesph, Missouri to see family. We had a great time. Here are some pictures from that trip.
Andrew patiently waiting to go to the airport. He wore his monkey pj's and the special monkey slippers.
Playing with his special air plane toy, a camera. Waiting to take off.

Andrew was the first great grandchild to sit in the antique high chair. We ate lots of good food.

Oh how Andrew loved the stairs. He learned how to climb up a whole flight. We never quite mastered the going down.
VICTORY and pure joy, reaching the top!

Andrew discovered some toys he had never seen. There were lots of girl toys Andrew had never seen before. We would try to put the baby doll in the stroller and he would throw her on the ground.

There were lots of pretty tulips in the yard.

This is what Andrew did about 20 times a day. "Cat Hunt" he would chase the inside cats, trying to pet them. They didn't want to be petted. So they would run for refuge down to the basement.
Here Andrew would watch them escape to safety.

However Goldie the outside cat love the attention from the little man.

Andrew loves to lay his head down on the Goldie, because his fur was so soft. Andrew also does this a lot to Decker, and Decker lets him because Andrew shares his snacks with her, the friendship has formed.

The cats at the Kirby office liked the attention as well. Here Andrew is petting Rusty and playing with a Kirby attachment at the same time.

Trying out a new model.

Andrew loved playing peekaboo with Great, Great Uncle Pude.

At the Kirby office with Great Grandpa.

Enjoying a rare moment of sunshine in the backyard with Mimi and great Gramma. It rained most of the time we were there.

Sunday morning before church, even with only 1 child in the picture, it still proved to be impossible to get a good picture of everyone. So these are the best we got.

Andrew refusing to take a picture without me.

We had a great time in Missouri. We also got to see my cousin Kinsey in a play at her college. She is quite the actress.

Yard Boys

So far this spring we have been outside a lot. More than I have in a long time. Andrew loves being outside mimicking, Bobby and I. He pulls grass and puts it in his pail when I am pulling weeds. He uses his shovel in the flower bed when Bobby is chopping the roots out. On Friday he helped us out with raking and sweeping the yard. It is so cute to watch him "help" Andrew is really into helping mom and dad with everything. Here are a few pictures from Friday, of my hard working men.
Like father, like son. Andrew has already shown a fascination for tools and the garage. He always wants to go explore in the garage. He also enjoys trips to the hardware store!

Hard working hubby

Happy 15 months, that is too close to the big 18 months (a year and a half).
Friday we did yard work and ran errands. That night and on Saturday we had our home group retreat. This was our first retreat as leaders of the home group. God was so good. He came and meet with us this weekend. It was so refreshing to receive prayer and to share and hear about what God is doing in our friends lives.

Sawing Logs

This week I gave in! We are now napping Andrew once a day. For the past couple of months, the 2 nap a day routine, has been somewhat difficult. So on Wednesday we tried our first intentional one nap a day. Andrew did great he slept for 3 hours (which was the goal!) I have been blessed to have a baby that loves to sleep and usually sleeps well at night and during the day. So now I am having to adjust to a new schedule more than Andrew.

This week Andrew has fallen in love with wearing his monkey slippers (too bad they are getting small). It is so cute he is frequently handing me his slippers asking me to put them on him. He also has been sleeping in them, and he keeps them on all night! I love the sound the slipper make on the tile when he walks!
Headed out the door ready to paint, with the spoon in hand and the slippers on!
I tried to get foot prints and hand prints for mother's day cards and for frames in his room. It was quite "fun"
I wanted to get 4 hand prints and 4 foot prints. I got 1 hand and 1 foot. So we will have to wait and do my cute mothers day card next year.

The spoon was Andrew's paint brush.
So we may be not be painting with "paint" again for a while. However we will be doing lots of water painting outside, now that the weather is pretty and Andrew had more fun with the bucket of water and the spoon than the paint.

Jumping

This past week Decker got a new hobby. Jumping our fence and cruising the streets. When we lived in Lubbock this crazy dog would jump our wood privacy fence and jump back in when she was done wondering around. For 2 years now we have lived in our house in Fort Worth and she has never jumped the chain link fence. So Bobby and I thought she was too old to. Well we were wrong. So after a week of escaping every time I put her outside, I enlisted to Kirk to bring his mesh and come make a way for Decker to not get out. He did it in about 20 min. with some help from Bobby (he was about to go to work) and this little guy was the supervisor....

I should have gotten a photo with the neighbor kids in the back ground. They we informing me of the dangers of letting my baby play with a hammer :) Andrew's expression matches his shirt!

Thanks Kirk for the help, your the best brother!!!

While we were outside Andrew crawled into Decker's dog house that she still doesn't really use. Maybe seeing Andrew in it will make her want to get in it?

Oh and my husband is a ROCK STAR, he got a 96 on his test! It was funny on the email his teacher put 96%-good. My reaction was "oh my gosh you got an A+!!!!!!!" I think a A+ deserves a "great job" but whatever. Anyways so his 2 weeks worth of crazy studying paid off. Supposedly this was the harder test of the semester. One more test left for May and then he is done with this class, but still has many more to come.

Easter Sunday

We had a great Easter Sunday to wrap up a fun weekend of celebrating Christ victory over the grave! This was our first Easter to celebrate together with Andrew. Last year my sweet great granny passed away so, Andrew and I went to Missouri to attend the funeral and Bobby had to stay in Texas and work.

So this year we had a great service at church, Andrew survived the 45 min. Sunday School class. Every week this is a accomplishment, if it happens.

We had a great lunch at Cathy's and we had a great dinner at my parents house. Overall it was a fun and relaxing day of celebrating Christ's Resurrection.
I love the suspenders and the tie!

Andrew giving us a run down of the sermon using Daddy's notes from the bulletin.

Mr. Bunny

On Saturday our church did a Easter outreach at our neighborhood park. It was such a beautiful day and we had lots of fun and we had a great turn out from the neighborhood. Mr. Bunny made an appearance and got to go on his first ever Easter egg hunt.
Mr. Bunny. Yes, Bobby did not approve of the ears. My defense is that there are boy bunnies in nature!
The random dog that got in the picture to.
Andrew got his face painted for the first time, a carrot and it was done by Lucas, who happens to be a professional artist!

Andrew's 2 favorite things: being held by momma and a balloon!

Andrew helping with the Happy Hopper Game.

The egg hunt, with the trusty snack cup in case he gets hungry. Andrew refused to try a jellybean.

Yes, he put a egg in his basket! I was very proud.

Checking out what was inside the eggs.

Exploring with Uncle Dave.
