Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween, okay I know Halloween wasn't yesterday, but it was at the Caivano house. Bobby works on 10-31-09 so we dressed Andrew up yesterday and took our giraffe to the grandparents houses. After we put him to bed Bobby and I carved our first pumpkin together, and I toasted the seeds!
Right when we were done with Bobby's pumpkin and starting to carve mine we heard car wheels squeal and a crash along with police sirens!
It was a car running from the police then the guy crashed and tried to run. Thankfully he was caught. So my pumkin did not turn out pretty enough for a picture. Then we watched "My Life in Ruins" it wasn't that great. So our night was fun and memorable. Thankfully no one got hurt, suprisingly our friend who is a cop said that the guy was probably getting pulled over for a traffic violation and had warrents out for his arrest, and decided to try to run. Crazy

I love his little toes in the grass in this picture. His shirt says "Mommy's little pumpkin"

The giraffe!

I love his serious and old man faces that he makes!!! It reminds me so much of Bobby.

Fun Times in Fall

This weekend was so much fun!! Aunt Dana came in from Austin and we did what we do best, cook, eat and dress Andrew in cute outfits. On Friday night we had fun making and eating chocolate covered strawberries, we ate the whole carton of strawberries and left 1 for Bobby in the morning.

It was funny on Saturday Dana woke both Andrew and I up in the morning, we take it slow in the mornings. Well rewind, actually the poor baby was up for 2 hours in the wee hours of the night in teething pain. I felt so bad for Dana but she is a sweetheart and said it didn’t bother her (he was screaming in the room next to her). Then we went on our traditional walk.

Bobby watched Andrew in the afternoon and we showed off our craft skills at my home group’s ladies craft afternoon get together. It was fun for Dana to get to meet some of my Fort Worth friends. We made these cute prayer books, out of scrap booking stuff.

Then we headed over to my parents house to do my mom’s hair for a murder mystery dinner. Here is a picture of the cute couple. It turned out pretty good, since both Dana and I don't claim to be hair dressers. All the styling I have to do is wash my hair and let it air dry. They are Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.

Then continuing with the beauty theme we went to the store and got cool dark maroon and brown nail polish. Of course as soon as Bobby saw our nails he asked when and why we decided to become goth, we educated him on the fall nail colors that are in style and he passed on joining in on the fun.
Here is a sneak peak at Andrew's halloween costume. He is a very serious giraffe, he actually didn't mind wearing the outfit, even though his face says other wise.

THE MAN ROBE, I love his chubby legs in this picture!
I had so much fun this weekend, good friends are such a blessing!
P.S. God is good, Bobby registered for his spring semester class and it is advanced pathophysiology, and it will be the same kind of online class that meets once a month!! It was just another reminder that God will take care of Bobby's schedule (work, family, church and school stuff).
P.S.S. Bobby got a 92 on his big paper!!! He such a smarty pants.

9 months old!!!

It is hard to believe that this past Saturday Andrew turned 9 months old!!! What is even wilder is that he also spent his first weekend ever away from mom and dad and had a blast. He got to stay with Grandma and auntie Ashley on Friday and Mimi and Gramps on Saturday, while Bobby and I went to Lubbock for Ashley’s wedding.
From what I hear Andrew did great sleeping at their houses and drinking formula like it was a chocolate milkshake! Bobby and I also did well, I was really nervous earlier in the week thinking about it. On Wednesday night I couldn't sleep thinking about it, however when we left on Friday I was fine. Sunday morning I was ready to see Andrew again, but I really enjoyed our weekend. We decided we need to get away again.
Bobby and I had fun walking around Tech campus and remembering our college days. I also forgot what good shape I was in, back in the day. My legs hurt after our stroll around the campus and to think I used to walk that distance twice a day and teach a workout class!!Here we are all dressed up for the wedding, it was fun the reception was at the Stadium Club.
Me and the beautiful bride!

My super cute hubby, in the background you can see that Tech is already getting ready for the parade of lights.

This is my favorite thing about Tech campus in the fall, "CRUNCHIES" that is the name we have given these seed things that fall from the trees. I love the crunch they make when you step on them. If I knew what kind of a tree it is I would have to plant on in our front yard!

Before we left, he looks like he is in trouble and got caught, but he isn't. Andrew likes to play the piano with momma.

Our little pumpkin.
A list of accomplishments:
  • Andrew works hard every day. He is such a wiggle worm. He is always on the move, crawling, climbing, pulling up,twisting around, and finding things to get into.
  • He love to eat, he may be small and starting to slim down from always being on the move, but this kid can eat. He loves solid foods and loves feeding himself.
  • He is still the strong quiet type, dadda is the only word for now.
  • He has so much personality, some days he is so happy and smiles a lot. Other days he stares you down and will only crack a half smile. (hum this sounds like someone else I know, BOBBY!!!! :)
  • He is a good sleeper and sleeps from 7:30- 6am most nights. Some nights he stays up to the wee hour of 6:30 pm.
  • He takes 2 naps a day usually around 1.5 hours each.
  • A couple of weeks ago he finally stopped army crawling and crawled with his knees. I was sooo excited when he did it I kept cheering GO, ANDREW, GO, ANDREW, GO
  • Andrew loves to two step with momma, he smiles and giggles as we dance and I sing along to the song.

We love our little man, it is hard to believe that as I type this blog he has been out of utero longer than in utero. The time sure so does fly and we are loving every minuet of it.

Our little carpet eating man

Yes that is right the title of this post is our little carpet eating man! This week Andrew discovered that there are little pieces of random carpet next to the walls in our house that the vacuum has missed. He also discovered in some parts of the house he can use his little fingers to pull pieces of the carpet out! Twice in one day I witnessed Andrew swallowing pieces of carpet, who knows how many more pieces he sneaked in. YUCK and yes I tried to stop it but I was too late. So Andrew and I crawled down the hallway and living room together while I picked up 3 handfuls of stray pieces of carpet. I still have more of the house to do, but we will take it one day at a time. It was funny a part of me wanted to complain about this, due to the 6 dirty diapers in a 8 hour time frame that resulted from the carpet. I was reminded to be thankful because Andrew has brand new carpet and I don’t have to see my baby crawl around on the large mystery stains that the old carpet had.

FYI Bobby’s paper is due tomorrow and he is up page 19, he is estimating that it will be close to 30 pages by the time he cites everything, does the cover page and ect. I told him that I will take a picture of him with his paper and post it on the blog. He rolled his eyes, he claims he is not in to the blog, but some how he always manages to look at it a work :) Love you baby have a good night at work and the bug and I will see you in the morning :)

Bad hair day

Today I realized that for the past 3 days I have been using hair spray on my wet hair and styling it, thinking I was using spray gel! No wonder my hair has been feeling weird. Usually Andrew does well at the store but when I bought the hair spray he was crying and I just grabbed what I thought was spray gel, I wanted to try a new kind. This has also happened repeatedly with milk, I grab 2% instead of skim. Do to a adorable but grumpy baby. I know this is random but hey for the past 3 days all Bobby has done is eat, sleep and work on his paper for school.

No I am off to start proof reading or editing Bobby’s paper, hopefully my editing skills are better than my writing skills. I am famous for having spell check change my words to something that doesn’t make since, haha don’t worry I put that their on purpose. Okay so you get what I mean.

Little Pumpkin

Here is our little pumpkin!!! On Saturday I had way too much fun, we took Andrew to Caloways Nursery, they were having a kids day, and we got so many cute pictures. Here are a few of our favorites.

Andrew loved the straw and did not know what to think of the pumpkins.

He was such a trooper, it was raining and he was not in the best mood for pictures. So this is what happened on the way home. He doesn't sleep much in his car seat anymore and I thought it was cute how his mouth is open.
Not much else is going on around here. This morning I was ordering pictures off of snapfish and realized that I alone took 150 pictures of Andrew in the past month and a half. That isn't counting the grandparent's pictures. I think it is because he is mobile now and smiles for the camera. I promised Bobby I would be more selective next month when ordering pictures, not to print every picture.
If you were wondering what what was on Andrew's checks in the pumpkin pictures. Unfortunately he has his mommas skin and it was just a little eczema rash or it may be from the kiwi that he ate this week. He didn't even make a face when he first tasted the kiwi and it was sour to me. He also ate corn for the first time and we tried eggs again this morning and it is looking like his little allergic reaction is gone. It was funny this week, we gave him a piece of pasta from a lasagna and he looked at us like, "so this is what you eat, yuck" Bobby put it in his mouth and he ate it, but he wasn't begging for more.
We have also started trying to teach Andrew some baby sign language. We are starting off with the sign for "more" and "water" hopefully Bobby and I will be diligent in showing him the sign over and over. We have read that it takes a couple of months for babies to catch on. So we will see how it goes.

Exploring

Here are a few pictures of Andrew exploring the house yesterday. I love it when he is in a good mood and just crawls around the house finding new things. He has so much curiosity right now and it is adorable.

Andrew was being my shadow in the kitchen, he discovered he can pull up on the refrigerator and on the cabinets. His favorite new find in the kitchen was when I started the dishwasher. He loved the sound it made as it washed dishes for me, and to feel the vibration through the door. He played here in the spot for at least 10 minuets, and that is an eternity to a 8 month old.

He also tried to make a run for it!!! Haha not really, you can’t tell from the picture but it was raining hard and the wind was blowing so we were watching what was going on outside.
