Best Friend

On Monday Andrew was eating breakfast and he told me that Lily is his best friend.  It was so sweet he always scoots his chair as close to her high chair as possible when eating, and hearing him say that was so adorable.  I was a little surprised because I don’t think I have talked with Andrew about having a best friend.  I usually only use that phrase occasionally when I tell Andrew that daddy is my best friend.
On Monday we took a quick family trip to the mall to run to sears for daddy.  The kids had fun playing on the “big toys” as Andrew calls it.  Lucky for them I had a few quarters on hand so they got to ride the jeep together.
My sweet little cowgirl.

I pray that their friendship continues to grow and lasts a lifetime.  Lily stills thinks anything Andrew does is hilarious and will laugh so hard with him.  Andrew is always taking care of Lily, giving her a snack or a toy.  If I put Lily down for a nap while Andrew is busy playing he will often ask me where she is, when he realizes he is playing to peacefully :) He loves to open Lily’s door when he hears she has woke up from a nap or in the morning and give her a toy.

At Costco, I love when they sit this close together.  They look so much alike.
Samples, yay for snow cone samples.  Andrew is a good at sharing except for Costco samples.  I now grab 2 samples off the cart, one for each child and if it is a sample Lily can’t eat we don’t get it, because drama will unfold if samples are not equal and for everyone in the cart. :)
If only they would both look at the camera at the same time :)  I love these little kiddos, it is so much fun watching them interact and figure things out together.

Trains and BBQ

This past Friday we did a spontaneous train ride and picnic with Nana.
 All Aboard!
We picnicked in the park and then caught the train back to our car.  The weather was gorgeous and the kids had a blast.
As you can tell it was very relaxing.
 Andrew ran around chasing squirrels.
 Exploring.
Hanging out.
That night Bobby grilled steaks.  Andrew showing off how “big boys” eat corn on the cob.
My cutie pies eating corn and steak.
I love pictures of sleeping babies.  I love how she wedged big bird under her.
A sleepy smile from Lily.  She currently is trying to decide if she is ready to move to 1 nap a day.

May 20th

Sunday was our 6 year wedding anniversary.  We got to go to church and have our friends (life group) over that night.  It was a fun day of being with our friends.  Until that night when Andrew got sick during life group and we had to put him to bed early.  Bobby and I had fun laughing and making jokes “ you know you have been married 6 years and you have two small children when.... the evening fun includes changing a diaper and ect..  I love that we laugh and enjoy this time in our lives.
On Monday Bobby got me these beautiful flowers and the best part is that he had them put lilies in with the roses.  My kitchen smells so good right now, I love the smell of lilies, and I am pretty fond of a another Lily too :)

We ate dinner at Reata on the rooftop (big thanks to our life group for the gift card, and to Kelli for telling me to make reservations so that we could sit on the rooftop). The view was amazing, the food was delicious, the music playing was all of our favorite songs, or as Bobby calls them classics of Texas Country.  It was just a amazing time together to talk and eat and the atmosphere was wonderful.
My hot date eating some of my meal after he ate his, he was really full when he left.  Then we saw the movie Avengers.  I had a great time celebrating!

Technology

If you are my friend on facebook you might have noticed that all of a sudden I am posting more pictures and status than I usually do, and that I joined Instagram.  Bobby got me a new iphone for mother’s day.  We got it last week, now both Bobby and I can text.  Bobby is still proudly using his old phone from 2005, but at least now when he gets a text message from work it won’t cost us as much.  I have had fun entering the texting world.
When we got home from the AT&T store my boys enjoyed some quality father son technology time :) Bobby may not have a iphone of his own but he had mine set up so fast, he knows how to work it better than me and mysteriously some apps showed up on the phone that I didn’t download :)
The next day this little lady was ready to work in the garage and in yard with her daddy.

Mother’s Day Recap

Mother’s Day was last week.  Bobby worked both of his 3 day shifts back to back, so he was tired and working for mothers day.  The kids and I had a fun full day.  We drove to Plano to see cousin Ava get dedicated at church.   I had so much fun watching the kids play with their cousins.  Andrew and Maya always have so much fun together and Lily and Ava and had fun joining in on the fun too, while Jakin watched.

Bobby joined us at my parents house that night.  Here is our official mother’s day photo, not too bad in my opinion, both kids are at least kinda looking at the camera.

Lily playing with some of my toys from childhood.
This marble toy was one of my favorites growing up. It is called marble works.
 Kids plus grandkids.
Mimi and Gramps with the kids.

Andrew showing of his train and all the steam the train has.
The next few days Bobby worked and we did this every day...  We would fill the pool up in the morning and by the afternoon the water would be hot like bath water.
Lily is slowly starting to like the water more and more every day.

It was a long 7 days of Bobby working but.... the best part is that he is off for 5 days!!

P.S. his grades were posted and he did great a A and a B!  So proud of all your hard work Bobby!

Trains again!

Lily had fun helping with the laundry.
 Where’s Lily?
Peek a boo!

Andrew joined in the game too.

Last week we got Andrew a train table and tracks.  He has played trains nonstop since last Wednesday.  He has only been in his bedroom to sleep.
The table is in our living room for now until Bobby can work his organizing and furniture arranging magic to figure out a way to get this big table into his bedroom.  I was so excited we got the table, lots of extra tracks, 2 big tubs of Lincoln Logs and a bunch of trains for $25 off of craigslist.
A action shot of what Andrew has been doing all week.

Mini stay cation

Summer is here at our house for a couple of weeks.  Bobby officially wrapped up school this past week.  He survived the semester as a part time student and full time employee.  I am proud of him for staying organized and studying for 12-16 hours a day on his days off.  This week he was off and we had our own little mini vacation at home.

We loaded everyone into Bobby’s truck and went to Walmart and got a swimming pool for the backyard.  This was our first time to ride as a family of 4 in the truck.

Bobby trying to get the kids to look at me to take a picture, they obviously saw right through his excitement.

Lily kinda liked the pool, but kinda didn’t at the same time.  Although she was the cutest one in the pool with her ruffly swimsuit.
Andrew had a lot of fun and now pretends to swim in the pool in the backyard when it doesn’t have water in it.

This week the kids stayed up late every night, we got to see friends, played at home, and sleep late.  We had so much fun.  Bobby has 3 more weeks off from school, before his summer class psychology starts.

Duckies

Fresh lettuce from my flower bed.  I got to make a salad with lettuce I grew from seeds this spring. Bugs attacked my broccoli, none of it ended up blooming to broccoli florets. I caught the gardening bug, and hope to plant a few more plants next year.  I am so thankful I get to eat more than what I can grow and it took a lot of work to get the dirt off the leaves, but it was fun to think that I grew it.
There are 2 ducks that visit our house and our neighbors house regularly.  Andrew loves to chase them around the yard.

The next day the kids were playing in the bed of the truck and 1 of the ducks flew in for a snack.
Andrew spontaneously gave Lily a kiss.
Watching the duck eat the bread.
The ducks got closer to Andrew since he was up high and not chasing them.

Andrew and Lily both love riding and playing in the truck.
