Bubbles

Here is a random fact that we discovered tonight and tested using the scientific method.........
Johnson and Johnson's head to toe body wash does not taste like soap. Yes, Andrew, not I discovered this. This was his 2nd or 3rd bubble bath that all he wanted to do was eat the bubbles. So I tasted them, thinking, "great do I have the kid who won't stop eating the glue!" Well they have no taste, because it is soap free. (P.S. It took me 2 test to make the final confirmation.) Then after eating bubbles, Andrew proceed to make bubbles come out of a "certain" area of his behind. Any ways if I was still a 5th grade science teacher I would suggest soap tastes as a science fair topic.
On another note, I can't wait for the holidays to be over and Bobby to be on his regular work schedule again. The poor guy has had to be nocturnal for what seems like the past 2 weeks. We will be protesting the coming of 2010 by celebrating Christmas again with the Caivano side, with the traditional lobster on Christmas eve (really new years eve) and baked ziti on Christmas Day (really new years day). This will be Andrew's first time to eat the famous Caivano baked Ziti. P.S, we are protesting 2010 because that means in a matter of days my baby will be turning 1!!!!
I don't like to make a post without a picture so he is a left over Christmas picture.

Maybe hot pink gloves will make doing dishes more fun? This picture makes me laugh and think about the 1950's pictures of women vacuuming with heals on. I however am the real deal, if you look closely I have on pink pajama pants.

Christmas

Here are a few pictures of Christmas, more are sure to be coming, because over new years we will do the Caivano side of Christmas. I especially enjoyed the holiday because this was the first time since Bobby started working that he had the full Christmas holiday off!! This also was our first Christmas to host at our house. It was nice waking up and not rushing off to someone else's house. The reindeer bib.

Here I am calling Santa from my Lego phone that I made.

Here Bobby is branding Andrew with his Texas Tech branding iron to use on the grill.

Andrew was a little suspicious of all the presents.

Bobby's extreme heat glove for the grill and fire place.

This was Andrew's favorite toy that dad got.

First thing Christmas morning. Andrew did not like the snow.

Don't let my smile fool ya, I am not a snow bunny. At least it was pretty and made it feel more like winter.

Checking out his Lego's.

The rocking horse, it took some warming up too.

Ho,Ho,Ho

Last night Andrew got to take his first bubble bath!! He had so much fun, I forgot how much noise the bubbles make in the tube, I think that was his favorite part was hearing them pop. Here are some cute shots we snapped, after giving him a Santa beard for the holidays.

Just like Dad

This week Andrew had on a super cute pair of overalls and he found some wood pieces we were putting together for the new church building. He is just like his dad, a future craftsman in the making. He played with the wood for quite a while and even came back looking for it later in the day.

Trying to get Andrew to smile for the camera, he really enjoyed banging the sticks together.

I caught a smile on the camera!

If you look closely you can see Decker in the background behind Andrew watching us.

In front of the tree, with his Red Raider ornament. Thankfully Andrew still hasn't messed with the tree much. I think he forgets it is in the house. We put in a part of the living room where Andrew doesn't play much.

So I am getting kinda sad that my baby is growing up. It is hard to believe that next week he will turn 11 months old. After visiting with Bobby's granny this week, I realized that I don't have very many, if not any pictures of Andrew sleeping, except when he was tiny and that was all he did. So here is one of the little man sleeping and the next one is his reaction of waking up to the paparazzi taking pictures of him and disturbing his sleep.

Don't worry he got over it, and one day he will laugh at these pictures.

This weekend we busted out the Christmas decorations. I think it is now a family tradition, to have Ashley (the Christmas expert) over to help and oversee the decorating. For the past 2 years she just happens to be in town when we are decorating. We also had a new helper this year. He was more interested in the Rubbermaid storage containers than the tree.

Andrew is such a serious worker.
This smile melts our hearts!!!!!

Here is a cute picture of our rosie cheeked man, he has his momma's skin, so winter is not kind to his eczema cheeks.

Andrew playing some of our favorite Christmas carols on the piano! He loves playing with mom, and even sings with mom when we play together.
This is Andrew's favorite blanket to chew on, and at night his face has to be laying on the blanket.
While posting this I realized, we didn't take any pictures of Andrew in front of the decorated tree. So I we will have to do that. I am hoping in our next post there will be a picture of beautiful little lady Perry. We are on pins and needles waiting for a text or a phone call that she is here. Hayley has been laboring for a few days now. She is such a strong women!

Sleep

Sleep, ahh how wonderful is a comfy crib, two special blankies and a delicious paci. The weird thing is that Andrew has been BEGGING to go to bed at 6ish all week. Yep, in his mind he would rather skip the 6 o'clock news and head to bed. I have to admit it has been nice to have the evenings to myself, but that means I have to go to bed at a somewhat reasonable time, because 7am comes early. Yes, the man sleeps about 13 hours a night. Crazy right!! I am enjoying it while I can. We have been joking that he doesn't have the Caivano sleep gene. Only time will tell if he becomes a night owl like his dad.

Well hopefully this weekend will be full of rest and relaxation, Bobby is off all weekend, he will be done with his first grad school class. So we will celebrating by hopefully watching movies, staying up late and decorating for Christmas!

Swine Flu

The isolated Thanksgiving. Here is a quick review of our week last week.

Saturday- Bobby and I did a work day at our church to help move into the new building. Andrew acted very mellow and slept alot and didn't eat much, so we thought it was teething.

Sunday- We had a cranky baby who didn't eat much and sleep ALOT. That night he ran a low grade fever, so we gave him some tylenol.
Monday- same as Sunday still thinking it was teeth. He was up most of the night crying in pain.
Tuesday- at 6 am he had 103.4 fever, Bobby and I start to worry and call the dr. at the office he tests positive for type A flu, which is probably swine flu. Quarantine begins.
Wednesday- Thursday still quarantined.
Friday- my birthday and we are back to being healthy again.
So Thanksgiving was a lonely one, thankfully Bobby and I have not caught the flu yet and on Thanksgiving night he was no longer contagious. Bobby worked on his paper all week and weekend.
So I am thankful that my baby boy is healthy again, that the only symptom we could tell he had was a fever and a really cute hoarse voice. I am also thankful for the invention of Tylenol I couldn't imagine going through this without it.

He is a wild man on this push toy his face lights up and he gets so excited when he is walking/ pushing it.

P.S. Andrew's 2 front top teeth have come in and for the past couple of mornings he has been grinding his teeth. I guess because they are new, but the sound is horrible. I am sure this will pass soon. He is also eating like a beaver with his new teeth it makes a cute sound when he is munching on cheerios. He can also clap now and bounces when he gets excited!!!

So now that we are healthy and Bobby's paper is due on Friday, I hope this weekend we put up Christmas stuff and have some fun!!!
