Fa, La, La, La, La Fun!

Christmas has come to the Caivano house. Monday night we planned on decorating the house. The plan sounds so fun, we would wake Bobby up at 4:00, order pizza, put on Christmas music, and have fun all night right???

Well Andrew decided he didn't need his nap on Monday then at 4 pm he changed his mind so he took a power nap. I got Bobby up and we were going to get stuff out and clean and start preparing for when Andrew got up.

I woke Andrew up at 4:45, and he was grumpy!!!!! Plus, him waking up to us rearranging the living room didn't help him. He wouldn't stop crying and we couldn't distract him with anything. So I left our crying child with Bobby and braved the traffic to pick up our pizza.

When I got home Andrew had finally calmed down but the house was a disaster. So we ate our pizza and started decorating. Andrew wanted nothing to do with decorating so we kinda entertained him and worked independently.

After a while the Christmas tunes started to sink and Andrew decided to join the family in decorating.

What is all of this stuff?

Checking out the decorations.
I put the tree together by myself. Andrew didn't like me doing this at first because he liked the bare wall after we moved our table. He enjoyed throwing his football on it.
He came around and the little helper personality came out!
He helped put branches in the tree, Then we had to find where he put them so we could put them in trunk of the tree.
Getting into the swing of things.
Inspecting mom's work.

Too cute, his expression fit his mood.
Bobby's annual job, apparently Texas Tech has asked him to be in charge of " Carol of the Lights" since he is a expert on Christmas tree lighting ! :)
Even though we got off on a rocky start the tree is up and the house is coming together. We can't wait to see what is in store for this month.

While decorating we got awesome news, Bobby won't have to work on Christmas day, as he was planned to. A sweet girl switched shifts with him!!!! This is a miracle, that we didn't see coming.

When Andrew got up this morning the tree was completely decorated. He had so much fun finding "gagoos" (balls) he especially likes the glass footballs.

Turkey Time Part 2

We had a great Thanksgiving this year.
Andrew loved wearing his turkey t-shirt that he made, if only he had enjoyed making it as much as enjoyed wearing it.

After eating a great breakfast Andrew enjoyed watching the Macy's parade and eating raisins.

Too cute, if only they gave more T.V. time to the balloons, but he still enjoyed it.

Goofing around before leaving the house.

He had to wear both buckets.

Boompa carving the bird, Andrew enjoyed watching and waiting for scraps to eat while waiting.
Andrew did a great job waiting for his turkey.Yummy, Andrew ate 2 plates of food and ate everything that was offered to him, even food he hadn't seen before!!
A potato goatee.
Bobby watching some football.
One of Andrew's favorite places to be.
Bobby watching more football and working on the Rubix cube.
Addy enjoyed eating off of Andrew's plate for dinner. It was cute, he didn't mind sharing with her. The played really well together, Addy had just started walking so it was cute to see her waddle around.

It was a great holiday filled with good food and lots of family.

Big Boy

This week we moved the twin bed into Andrew's room. He got so excited to see the new bedding in his room. He loves the stars on the bed. We aren't planning on him sleeping in it yet, but we wanted to get the bed in his room to start preparing Lily's rooms, and to ease him into the bed.
Exploring the new bed, it will double as a changing table for a while. Bobby is going to paint the changing table white for Lily's room.
He loves the star on the pillow. The sheets are the cute cowboy print on the comforter.
At least he is laying down.
There you go, you lay down on the bed. He looks so little.
Andrew also likes to try to jump on the bed. He has been trying to jump for several days, it will be fun to see when he gets it down. (just not on the bed :)

Striking a pose! Watch out ladies!
Tonight Andrew wanted Bobby to read him his books in his bed. Then Bobby tried to lay down with him with the lights off. The lights off kinda scared him, so we need to plug in the night light and he still isn't ready to leave the crib. It will be interesting to see how this transition goes, my goal is to keep him a good sleeper. Andrew has loved his crib and sleeping so far, so we will see how long he will stay that way.

Celebrate

Today we celebrated my 27th birthday! It was a fun day Andrew and I went to the gym, then we went to Sears with Bobby and Andrew got to play a little in the mall play area. For dinner we headed across town to Chimmy's. This was Andrew's first time to actually eat at Chimmy's. He loved the queso and salsa (the salsa was hot tonight) He ate about 2 bowls of queso and used the chip as a spoon.

Here are a few action shots.
He loves to dip things while eating.
Believe it or not when we first put the queso in front of him, he wanted nothing to do with it. He quickly discovered a new favorite food. He even drank out of his sippy cup and didn't beg to drink out of our cups, mainly because he was begging for more queso.
My birthday present from the hubs. We are having fun with the new computer since our old one was almost 9 years old! (I also look very pregnant in this picture)

It was a fun day of celebrating early. Sadly Bobby has to work on my actual birthday, so I guess we will have to celebrate twice :)

P.S. I am still in denial that I am going to be 27, I feel 25. It is crazy that is the birthday I celebrated while being pregnant with Andrew. Time marches on too fast. Anyways it has been a wonderful year!

Always working

Today I took Andrew to Dollar Tree to get his own inside broom. I wanted one that hadn't been used before since I knew he would be sweeping the carpet. He loved his broom, it is pretty much the only toy he has played with today.
I even swept the kitchen floor today, because Andrew kept sweeping in there, we had fun working together.

Leaves

Andrew's favorite thing to do lately has been to rake/ sweep up leaves. This boy loves hard work. He gets so excited to go outside and work. When Bobby and I were done raking leaves, Andrew stayed in the driveway with his broom and dust pan sweeping up dirt. He wasn't done yet. Then he got to help dad carry wood from his truck to the back yard. He was very proud of his contribution to the family.
Observing, Andrew tends to watch first and then
Dig in to help. Bobby had made this pile for Andrew to play in. We put him in the middle of it and all he wanted to do was get out and keep on working.
Bobby commented on how much fun it is to have Andrew outside this year with us, Andrew's positive attitude helps us all work harder.
Looking for a tool, he always has to have one in his hand when he is outside.
This is his serious working face.

I hope Andrew is always as eager to help his dad out in the yard.

Little Fish

This week Andrew laid down on his tummy in the bathtub for the first time. Then I started calling him little fish and he would get so excited and go back down on his tummy in the tub. He even let me take pictures and video. Afterwards he started putting his face in the the water, maybe soon he will learn how to blow bubbles in the water. Too cute.

Fireside Fun

This past weekend the temperature dropped about 20 degree's into the 60's and 40's at night! Gotta love Texas winters. So we had our first fire, Andrew got to experience it for a few minutes before bed, we will have more to come. I enjoyed watching it safely in his dad's arms.

I love the smell of fires and the sound, so can't wait for more. We had a lot of fires the year Andrew was born, but he was to little to experience them. Last year we did not have any wood that was ready to burn. Now last years wood is dried out so we can enjoy it this year.

Turkey Time part 1

This weekend we started off the holiday season by celebrating Thanksgiving with the Caivano side of the family. We ate lots of good food, played fun games and had a fun weekend together.

Family photo
I look really pregnant in this picture, Andrew is always a handful when we are trying to take pictures. Believe it or not I was bribing him with mints to take a pictures!
There must be a airplane in the sky.
Momma sneaking pictures of the adorable man

Playing football with dad, starting the Thanksgiving tradition as soon as he can walk and throw a ball.
Here is a cool vintage looking picture that was taken from inside the house. Andrew didn't want to come inside and we were getting cold, so we went inside and surprisingly he played for about 20 minuets by himself. (We watched from the door and window of course, he even climbed that little wall behind him all by himself)

Bobby's old high school baseball hats are always a hit at Nana's house.
Attempting to get a picture of Andrew with the hat on.
Ashley and David sporting the hats.
The men, eating cashews and watching football.
Then Andrew decided to join the girls and color for a little bit. Andrew kept us busy jumping back forth to all of the entertainment options. It is not a holiday unless all of the toys are out covering the living room floor!
This past week Lily seem to pop out more. I now look "more" pregnant.
Andrew enjoyed reading his pumpkin book multiple times over the weekend.
Playing worship songs with Momma
Working hard in the kitchen.
Andrew "supervising" Nana
The bird!

Andrew patiently waiting to eat!
His verdict: It was worth the wait, he loved every bit.
Playing with mints after dinner.
Yummy mints.

It was such a fun time and we can't wait to celebrate again in a couple of weeks!
