Summer fun and garden update

I have really enjoyed our garden this year. We are getting so many green beans, at first we were only getting as many as are in the picture, so we would just eat them raw as a snack for the past week every other day I have enough to steam and feed our whole family. Bobby has gotten about 20 cherry tomatoes and we are waiting on our full size tomatoes to turn red, we have a few peppers but it will be a while until they turn red and orange, our cucumber plants are just now starting to produce.  I planted some garlic in January and harvested it a few weeks ago. I am hoping to plant garlic this fall.
My big kid, he plays legos all day long now...
We have been enjoying early morning bike rides this month while it is still cool. Andrew is a great big brother he loves to play with Will. Here Will is trying out the bike helmet.

Lily has been riding her tricycle so well and so often that she got to get a rode bike. She is doing great she loves to ride it.  Right now she is riding 2 full blocks on our street. She is still slow and not ready for hills but I have a feeling by the end of the summer she will racing with Andrew and I will be running to keep up.

Will showing off his skills, this boy keeps me on my toes. Since he has mastered running he now is becoming a professional climber. He is always on the move climbing, he now moves chairs to climb them reach things. For now the kitchen counter is still safe, but I don’t know for how long.
All 3 kids went to the dentist this week. We have new insurance so the kids got to go to the pediatric dentist. They had a blast and got great reports. Andrew was so excited to get x-rays he has been talking about it for weeks.

A cute picture of Lily in the tub!

Preschool graduate

Andrew graduated from preschool… it feels like yesterday I dropped him off for the first time. Andrew had a great year at preschool. He had awesome teachers, Mrs. Christy and Mrs. Regina, at his end of the year parent conference they said the Andrew is on track to do well in kindergarten. They said he is good student, that he is funny has many friends and that they have enjoyed seeing more and more of his personality in the classroom. At the beginning of the year he was really quiet but as the weeks went on they got to know the wonderful Andrew that I know. They are impressed with his detailed work and concentration when he is working on things that he likes. Andrew is a passionate guy, when he is interested in something he is all about it (trains, planes, trucks and now legos)

The night before Andrew’s graduation he got tummy sick and we weren’t able to go to his ceremony. I was so sad, Andrew didn’t seem to care about missing it. He was more concerned about not getting lemonade at the ceremony. Once I told him he could have lemonade at home he was fine.

Andrew is wearing the shirt his class made, it has handprints of everyone in the class. I also made Andrew sing the songs that they were going to preform.  Andrew is so excited to go to kindergarten next year, he gets very excited when we drive past his new school. As bittersweet graduating from preschool is I can tell Andrew is ready for school.

Happy Birthday Bobby

Bobby recently had a birthday, the past few years his birthday was at the beginning of summer school. Last year Bobby had to go to school on his birthday… thankfully this year he went to work came home and bar-b-qued steaks for dinner.

The kids were so excited to celebrate daddy.

Bobby is such a fun dad letting the kids use him as a jungle gym.
 Happy Birthday Bobby!

The rest of May

May flew by… we have had fun soaking up the sunshine before it gets really hot.

Bobby found this picnic table on day when he was driving. I was so excited we had just talked about buying a outdoor kid table. It cleaned up well and the first thing Will did was climb on top of it.
Sweet brothers, they both were tired from waking up early one morning so I told Andrew to lay with Will. It didn’t work but I got a cute picture and Andrew did a great job pretending to be asleep.
My little monkey. At the park Lily climbed up and down this ladder several times, all by herself. It is funny to me that she would do this but wouldn’t go down the slide that is not as tall as this ladder.

Andrew got a coast guard boat that floats in the water. Here he is trying it out for the first time.

Andrew with another lego set. All Andrew plays and talks about now is lego’s he currently is really into the city collection. He is really good at putting the sets together. For several hours a day Andrew plays in his own imaginative way with these legos. When he isn’t playing with them he is begging to play lego games on the iPad or he sits and memorizes the pictures in the instruction books. Andrew is a very focused detail orientated little boy.
Bobby went on a canoe trip with 9 other guys. There trip got cut short due to rainy weather but all the guys had fun. When Bobby got home he fell asleep on the couch at 7:30pm and I woke him up at 7:30am the next day.

Lily got to go to a class at the Young Chefs Cooking academy last week. She had fun getting to things in the kitchen like crack a egg and use a hand mixer. In this picture Lily is wisking the flour for the cookies that they made.
Lily using the hand mixer.
I did some cooking too. I fried zucchini flowers for the first time. They were okay, the kids ate them when I told them they were chicken strips and the never noticed.
Will has been cranky and not sleeping great, so I looked in his mouth and he has 4 molars coming in! We had some long days and nights. I love it when they get molars, soon he will be able to grind food better. This will help my other dilemma of Will demanding to request

On mothers day we were in Plano and Bobby was helping David trim a tree and a branch hit my car.  Then it rained and rained while we waited to get it repaired,
I finally got my car in the shop and these kids got to ride nice and close in a small SUV. By the 4th day we were so happy to get our van back.  The night I picked it up the kids played in it refusing to get out, so happy to have their own seats back.

Wahoo here comes summer!
