Super Duck

A few weeks ago we checked out the book “Super Duck” by Jez Alborough. This book was a huge hit at our house. We read it every day, sometimes several times a day. Andrew would tie his blanket as a cape and become super duck , running around the house saying “c- duck". Then we had to return it, Andrew handled it well saying "good bye c- duck.” This week we recheck it out!
Super Duck in action
After changing Andrew’s diaper I left Lily on the bed to wash my hands and I came in the room and saw this. Andrew was saying “Nemo” and pointing to the fish. Lily was loving every minute of it.
This picture show how Lily is grabbing everything now.

Lily always has a beautiful smile on her face and has been jabbering and cooing even more now! She loves when Andrew plays with her.

I got this super preppy shirt from a friend as a “hand me down” Andrew looked so cute. I made sure he wore it on a day Bobby worked that way I wouldn’t get too much grief. Most morning Andrew requests to wear a shirt with a ball on it, I usually can persuade him to wear what I pick out. So I am enjoying dressing him now while I can.

The Zoo

Our house has turned into a zoo during nap time. The other day Andrew was not taking a nap, I checked on him and this is what I found.
Those eyes look tired to me.
Ribbit
Smiling for the camera
Another smile. This is one of Andrew’s favorite blankets that he sleeps with every night. This was the first time for him to get it on his head by himself.
Andrew is getting sneaky, when I am distracted I often find him sitting on the kitchen table. Here he is being a little monkey, eating a little monkey snack, with a big monkey smile.
Speaking of smiles...

Daddy’s Girl

Here are a few pictures of 2 people who I love a lot.

Bobby thinks I have a addiction of taking too many pictures of our kids (he supports this addiction). So I included him in the picture taking today.

This cheek is reserved for Daddy’s kisses only!

Andrew has enjoyed watching picture slideshows on our computer, I realized that I have lots of pictures of the kids and not very many with Bobby or me with them. So, I put a hair bow on Lily and Bobby let me take a few pictures of them together.

Milestones

My kids have been busy hitting some development milestones. On Sunday I got Lily from her nap and I found her like this.
She had rolled over from her tummy to her back. She was not this smiley when I found her, but we are excited to watch Lily grow and develop.

Lily also has laughed twice so far while she is cooing. I love watching Lily interact, smile and talk. Lily loves to be a part of the conversation.

Andrew turned 2 1/2 this week!!!!!
Andrew got a pair of real scissors. He has been playing with play dough scissors for awhile. They didn’t cut paper. So we made a special trip to Walmart and he got a pair of red scissors.
Andrew is working on mastering the scissors, but is having lots of fun learning. I let him practice cutting up our junk mail.
Andrew speech has been increasing rapidly. This week he said “Andrew,” this is a big deal because up until this week he would only call himself “Bubba.” I love hearing the way he says his name “Ah-drew” and he will say “Drew” now too. He has become a little parrot and will say what I say now. My favorite is when he says Bobby in the same sing song way I do when I am calling Bobby from across the house.

I can’t believe Andrew is 2 1/2 he so full of energy and is our entertainment around the house. His favorite activities are playing with his guitar and sweeping with a broom. We are excited to watch him grow into a little boy.

Working around the house.

I put my boys to work yesterday fixing Andrew’s door, it had been sticking and was loud when I would open it to check on him at night when he is asleep.
Andrew was sooo excited to help dad. He got all of his tools out and moved his workbench in the living room so that there would be plenty of room to work. Bobby was so patient with him, they would take turns using their tools. I love that Bobby enjoyed having Andrew “under foot."

I love to watch Andrew focus on activity. He loved mimicking what Bobby was doing.
Action shot.
Andrew sorted Bobby’s tools and his tools into 2 different piles. He did very well not playing with Bobby’s real tools.
Here Andrew is talking to me and Lily we were the spectators, cheerleaders and photographers.

Putting the finishing touches on the door. The project was a success, the door opens great now.

4th month old baby girl

Lily is 4 months old, she went to the dr. today, she weighs 12 pounds 12 ounces and is 24 inches long. She doing great, she is in 3-6 month clothes now loves to smile and coo all the time. She has rolled over 3 times but would rather lay on her back and chew on a burp cloth while looking at her cow toy.

I love this bib and this smile.

One afternoon Lily woke up early from her afternoon nap so I dressed her up in her little cowgirl outfit. Look at how long her hair is curling up from under her hat.

I got Lily her own pair of sunglasses.
Last week Lily had her first mother- daughter shopping trip to the mall and she got these sunglasses.

I can’t get over how easy it is to get Lily to smile.
Lily loves her jumper, we put it in the kitchen door and she watches me cook.
I like the expression she has on her face here.

Have you seen my glasses?

Andrew has started wearing his Mr. Potato head glasses around the house. This was his own idea. It is so entertaining to watch him play and pretend now.

Putting his glasses on. They are tiny but he makes it work.

We hope that you will not need real glasses anytime soon.
Smiling for the camera.
Reading his Brainy Baby booklets that come in his movies.
Trying to wear the Mr. Potatoe head glasses on his mouth. It didn’t work to well so he settled for this.
Too cool.
My two boys.
Andrew reading his “newspaper” this is a BabiesRUs add that you get in the mail. It is his favorite book right now, we read it about 10 times a day. He loves looking at the pictures of sippy cups, passis, and strollers. I never thought about it but it is all stuff that he is very familiar with.
He wore these glasses all day yesterday and wore them this morning for quite awhile.
Lily had to join in on the action. Andrew really wanted Lily to wear the glasses too. Hopefully soon she will have a girly pair to wear, but for now these will do. Lily has started talking a lot! Last night I was able to get it on video because she kept talk and wouldn’t stop! We are trying to get Andrew to talk to her when she talks, we are working on it. Right now he just looks at her and I don’t think he understands us getting excited about her talking, because to him she isn’t saying any words. It was beautiful this morning we were in Andrew’s bed reading the BabiesRUs booklet and both of my kids were talking nonstop, it is music to my ears.

4th of July

This past weekend my family got together at Amy and Casey’s house for the 4th of July. Bobby had to work so he wasn’t able to make it. I wasn’t able to get any pictures but my Aunt Janet emailed me hers!
Lily was studying Gigi. Lily handled the 30 min. car ride pretty well, she is getting better at soothing herself in the car.
Andrew was glued to Gramps. Here is Andrew, Gramps and Boompa waiting patiently for the food.
Andrew loved getting the big bubble wand.

The kids pool was set up, I guess my cousin Matthew still thinks he is a kid.
Andrew always loves playing with Uncle Keith, he is very creative when he plays with Andrew.

We had fun getting to see everyone, it is cute to watch Andrew play with his cousins now that everyone is getting older.
