Happy Birthday Mimi

Our neighbors cucumber plant has grown  into our yard and we picked about 5 this week and we have a few more coming in.  Andrew was excited that one was low enough for him to pick.
This boy loves cucumbers.  Latter that night we had a birthday party.
We celebrated Mimi’s birthday with a mexican fiesta.

Music to my Ears

Look who discovered the piano this week.
Here is one of Andrew’s first pictures at the piano, he was a few months younger than Lily is now.

Lily daintily played using her fingers not her whole hand smashing the keys. (maybe she will be my musical genius playing symphonies at the tender age of 4. haha)

Look at that mess of curls.  I have a feeling her hair is going to be a lot like mine.
Sweet Andrew at 11 months old.

I am excited I just ordered a piano lesson book for Andrew that is for 3-4 year olds.  I hope he will let me teach him! I have been talking it up, making it sound exciting.

Fever Fun

This week Lily had a few days that she spent fighting a virus that caused high fevers.  Poor baby felt so bad and she only wanted to be in my arms or asleep in her crib.  She got to have her passi more than usual.
Lily proudly wearing Andrew’s “train conductor” hat.

On Tuesday Lily started feeling better.  Today I tried to take video of Lily refusing to eat her dinner since she has done this all week.  As soon as I got the video rolling she started smiling and acting for the camera and pretending to eat.
I love this shot... Lily cheesing it up and Andrew totally focused on playing farmer with the animals.
My big boy looking at the camera, but... no smile.
 So focused on playing.
Andrew rests in his bed in the afternoon, but he plays and reads books most of the time.  By 4 pm his hard work playing caught up him and he was looking a little tired.
4 pm is also a hard hour for Lily too.  Thankfully a dinosaur came to the rescue.
She is so sad but so cute all at the same time.
Our week started off rough with a sick baby and ended well with a play date with friends and a couple of trips to the pool.

The green grass grows

A couple of weeks ago Bobby and I had a “fun” idea to kill all of the weed grass in our backyard.  That is about 2/3 rds of our yard, and then plant grass seed to hopefully get nice grass in the whole backyard.  It took 3 rounds of applying Roundup to kill some of this stubborn weed grass. I was beginning to wonder if it would ever die.  It felt so weird watching the grass die.  Last weekend Bobby rented this bad boy (in the picture) I have no idea what this tool is called.  In about a hour and a half it tilled up our yard and we planted the seed.  Right now we are watering like seed like crazy and waiting for the seed to sprout.  Our backyard looks like a tiny farm field.  While working in the yard I realized how hard preparing the land to plant is, and I am so thankful that I was not a pioneer tilling the land for the first time, to grow food that was my basic way of surviving.  Bobby and I love being outside working on our house together and it makes us kinda sad to think how far removed we are from living off the land.

Hopefully by the end of the summer I can take pictures of the pretty grass that has grown in.

15 months old!

Lily turned 15 months old last week.  It is hard to believe that she is a toddler now.  She spends most of her days toddling around the house finding “treasures” (Andrew’s toys).  She loves for me to chase her and she is getting pretty fast at walking/ kinda running.  She will repeat any word I ask her to. Her favorite words are dada, decker, hi and ball, she will sign for more food and loves to stand at the fridge to tell me she is thirsty or stand at the pantry when she wants a snack.  She loves to shake her head “no.” This past week she was able to spin in a circle while walking and can walk sideways really well.  Lily is officially taking 1 nap a day and has started sleeping late in the morning, like her brother!  She sleeps from 7:30 pm-8:00 or 8:30 am most nights.  Her favorite books right now are Ten Chirpy Chicks and Goodnight Moon.  She can identify 3 different objects in the book.  It is so fun to watch her meet the speech goals I had to work with Andrew on.
Ready to go for a run with mama.  Lily loves putting shoes on and taking them off.

Celebrating 15 months of life with her first slice of cheese pizza.  It was love at first bite!

Relaxing before bedtime.  Lily will be so tired but still happy if she is being entertained.
Here eyes are still blue and her hair is a beautiful auburn color with blonde accents and is curly.  At her doctor appointment she weighed 19 lbs (4th percentile) and is 25 inches tall (20th percentile)
I love this cheese face, when she sees a camera she automatically does it and says cheese while making the face.  This is a fun game I like to play throughout the day with her.  This picture sums of life currently she is smiling while playing with trains and cars.  She also loves to say “all aboard” and loves to dance and clap her hands to music.

Outside Fun

One evening this week the kids played together with the water table for about 30 min. It was nice to sit back and watch them play together.

I said don’t drink the water and you can see what he is doing.
 A cute hot mess.
Andrew was not in the mood for the paparazzi to take his picture.

This afternoon when kids woke up from their nap we went outside to watch the storm come in.

Looking at the clouds and waiting to see a raindrop.
Lily was a little unsure of the thunder she was hearing.
The kids were glued to door watching the rain come pouring down.  It is so cute to watch Lily follow Andrew around every where.  She is determined to not be left out of the action.

Today at the gym in childcare the kids were listening to a story and Andrew was sitting right next to Lily.  Afterwards he told me that he watched Lily for me.  I tell him to take care of her when I drop them off since Lily doesn’t like being dropped off anywhere.  It is so sweet to watch their brother/ sister bond forming.

Before Bobby went to work tonight, we all were playing tackle football in the house.  It was fun watching the kids squeal with excitement while running all through the house.  Lily got tackled 3 times by Andrew and handled them well and kept running back into the action.  It was fun to play something other than trains for once and it was Andrew’s idea.

June 3rd

Happy Birthday Bobby!!!  We celebrated Bobby’s birthday this past Sunday.  He kept saying all day that he has 1 more good year left (until he turns 30).  We went to the pool, ate dinner at Rosas and had yummy cake.  It was a fun evening.

Fun Random Facts about Bobby:
He loves salad and will eat whole meal of veggies if it is in a salad.
He makes the coolest train tracks.  His are always a lot more complicated looking then mine. Same goes for lego construction.
He used to tease his college roommate about being a "yard guy” always working in the yard for fun.  He now has become that “yard guy.”
When Bobby grills steak or burgers it is better than any restaurant I have been too.  He has really perfected his grilling.
He is the proud Daddy to these 2 adorable kids.

Love you Bobby!

Cheesy Face

I LOVE Lily’s cheese face smile.  It looks fake and over done but that is how she has been smiling lately when she is really happy.  The joy and excitement is over flowing.
On Sunday Lily took a 3 hours nap!!!  She woke up in a fabulous mood as you can tell in the pictures.
Loving her snack of goldfish before the baseball game.

Andrew and I were so proud of the play dough train we made.
Random picture Bobby took of me showing off my cheesy face.
