Art Camp

Andrew and Lily went to art camp last week.  They had so much fun.  Lily loved packing her backpack each morning with her snack and drink.

It is so fun to get messy and I don’t have to clean it up.
Andrew is so funny he has never enjoyed playing with shaving cream.  Here he tolerated it to make his painting.
Maya got to come to art camp too. Eden was Lily’s teacher and Jordan was Andrew’s, the kids came home telling me all about Eden and Jordan.

Here are pictures of the art that they made, a few are on the wall in their rooms. I like taking pictures that way we don’t have to keep it forever.
 Crazy hair
This is hysterical of Lily, she often gives me this face.
Andrews--- Lily’s  Every picture Andrew did had green in it and every picture Lily did had pink in it.
City scape  Andrew--- Lily  This was Andrew’s favorite picture he did.
My Lily holding her Monet’s water lilies.
 Lily with her pop art.
 Kids with their canvas.
The butterfly mobiles was Lily’s favorite thing that she made. Lily’s turned out really pretty and is hanging in her room. Andrew’s butterflies were all green and black and not as pretty. I am proud of Lily hanging with the big kids, camp is for kids ages 4 and up but they let her come and she did great. Andrew did good, he doesn’t always like doing art projects but he found a way to incorporate his likes into his art.
This is Andrew’s water lilies and he penciled in a canoe in the water that has him and his dad.

This guy had me all to himself all morning for 4 days. It was fun to get some stuff done while Will napped and the big kids were gone.
Will looks way to old in this picture! Slow down baby.

Bounce House fun

One Saturday this month we and some friends got together for a fun water bounce house party.  We all chipped in money for the bounce house rentals and pizza.  It was so fun to hang out with friends.

Andrew had a blast going down this huge slide about 100 times.
Bobby took Will and Lily down the slide. Neither one of them liked it. In the picture Bobby is holding Will.  Lily had fun running around with her girlfriends and played in a kiddy pool for a little while, it was a cooler day (85 degrees and she kept saying it was too cold)

The giant slip n slide was my favorite and Bobby’s.
Here is the first time Bobby and I raced, ended up getting faster, but there are no pictures to prove it.

We played hard from 10am- 1 pm. Will was asleep by the time I pulled out of our friends driveway.

Bathroom remodel

When Bobby finished school we made a goal to work on our house this next year. Since we had been in survival mode for the past 4.5 years. We wasted no time and Bobby got to work at the beginning of June remodeling the bathroom.
Bye bye green tile.
Bobby worked hard on the bathroom everyday. He really tired to get it done quick for me, we did not have a bathtub in our house for 3-4 weeks and we only had 1 toilet. I don’t know people in the old days did it, having one bathroom and large families!
Andrew helped put some finishing touches on.

Lily did some last minute adjusting.
Now the bathroom is beautiful and functioning, the cabinet doors need to be built and painted. I am happy to have sinks, a bathtub and a toilet for now.
First bath in the new tub.

Thanks Bobby I love it, you did a great job.

Will 15 and 16 months old

At the end of June I took Will in his 15 month check up.  He is 20 pounds (14%) and is 30.5 inches tall (19%). Will is enjoying the summer so much, he still naps twice a day most days. He loves running around the backyard and being outside. Will is very talkative, he babbles loudly all the time. Will still loves to climb on everything and is the most curious baby I have had.

The tray on our high chair broke and Will got a seat that lets him sit at the table. He loves this, before this seat he would often climb on a kitchen chair when we were eating to be with the rest of us.  Will loves trying to use utensils. Will insists on having what the big kids have, and playing with their toys. I am finding myself packing up baby things a lot sooner than I did with the other kids because Will refuses to play with them.
Watering the garden is his favorite thing to do in the morning.

Will also loves to climb on to the kitchen table and take whatever has been left on the table, on this day it was Lily’s yogurt.
Last week Will lost all of his baby curls. His hair was starting to tangle because it was so long. Will did a great job with the hair cut. He didn’t mind the buzz of the clippers at all. We joked that he must have wanted his hair cut because he was so still and happy during it all.
 All done.
 Such a handsome boy!
The next morning when I got Will out of his crib he looked so different with his short hair. I texted this picture to Bobby saying “I found this kid in Will’s bed, where did Will go?"
The weather was cool week last week and we took a spontaneous trip to the zoo. Will had fun toddling around the zoo.

To sum up Will these past 2 months:
-always on the move, loves to run and be chased
-becoming picker about what he will eat
-Mama’s boy, doesn’t like being dropped off at church
-loves to play with Andrew and Lily
-babbling all the time
-has figured out how to unlock my phone
-said bi for bike, bah for ball, bah for Buddy (a dog)
-starting to enjoy Good Night Moon at bedtime
-sleeps great most days
-a joy to have in our family.

Lily 3 year old

Lily finally got to go to her 3 year old well check appointment. She did great and really enjoyed having me all to herself.  Lily often wants me to carry her around, so I gave in and carried her around that day to and from the car and in the doctors office. Lily answered all the questions the doctor asked. Lily loves to talk and tells me lots of details about her day. She acts shy around new people but has become quite opinionated at home.

Lily’s stats weight: 28 pounds (17%) and height: 2 feet 9 inches (4%). Lily was slightly anemic so we started her on some iron supplement. Lily was my first child to get strep throat, she had it in June and it scared Bobby and I. She had crazy high fevers for 4 days. Her fevers were well over 104.5  Thank the Lord she is all better now.

Lily’s favorite color is pink, she says she loves to play baby dolls, but she is often playing whatever Andrew wants to play. I love watching Lily play, she talks the whole time and often sings when she plays.

Lily loves macaroni and cheese, mangos, nutella, bell peppers, green beans, broccoli, and cheez-its. Overall Lily is not that picky except she will usually not eat mashed potatoes or bananas.

Love you Lily bug!

Thomas the Train

It feels like forever since Andrew has played with his trains… We used to get the Thomas and Friends magazine and Andrew would memorize it cover to cover we would tape the posters on his wall and every issue you can draw a picture of a train and mail it to them and see if yours got published in the next magazine. Andrew entered every month and we were always sad that his picture never got selected.

The other day I got a package in the mail and it was a complimentary magazine with Andrew’s picture in it (neither Andrew or I remember this drawing of Hiro, but it got selected). It was fun to read the magazine to Andrew, but sadly he didn’t look at it much, like he used to.  So I saved my babies first piece of published artwork.  We get 3 issues of another magazine as our prize and Lily is enjoying it!

4th of July fun

Ok so summer is flying by so fast… we had a great 4th of July this year. We ended up spending it with Bobby’s sister’s and their families and his mom. So the kids had a blast running around Nana’s house. The morning of the 4th we went to a pool party at our friends house and then we had dinner at Nana’s house. Then I took Will home to go to bed and Bobby took the big kids to go see fireworks.
When they came home we did sparklers on the back patio.

Lily was a little unsure at first, but warmed up to the idea of holding a fire stick.

Andrew loved it and pretended it was a sword and went through many sparklers.
