My baby is growing up. Over the past 2 weeks Andrew has been wanting to sleep in his big boy bed (a twin bed) we let him try at night and he slowly over 2 weeks learned how to fall asleep in his bed. It was so weird to see my little boy in a real bed, I was happy and sad and just emotional about the whole thing. After one night in the big bed and one nap in it. Bobby and I talked to Andrew about moving his crib into Lily’s room for Lily to sleep in. Andrew shouts YES and ran to get his tools to take the crib apart.
Andrew LOVES using his tools and doing things with Bobby. It is fun to see Andrew identifying with Bobby, at night in the big bed he says he wants to "sleep in bed like daddy,” he is always wanting to put Daddy’s clothes on, play with Daddy’s phone, and ride in Daddy’s truck.
Bobby was all happy and excited, I was sad and scared about not having the crib for him.
Helping Daddy move it into Lily’s room.
My strong big boy.
Freedom.
After moving his bed into Lily’s room, he gave her all of his favorite bedtime books that we read when he was younger (this made me really sad), we found his passi when he took the crib down and he threw it into Lily’s crib for her. It felt like he was moving out of the house. I am excited for him and happy that he is letting his old crib go in Lily’s room. It is still hard to see him out grow more and more of his “baby” stuff.
