In October Lily had been having some tummy issues. I didn't think much of it, she acted fine most days. Then one week it got worse and she started acting really sick. Her tummy problems reminded me of when Andrew as 2.5 years old and had giardia. After a trip to the doctor a stool culture and 3 weeks of tummy issues. Lily got put on flagil the same medicine Andrew took that cured his parasite. We never figured out what parasite Lily had but she got treated for one. Apparently living in our house is like living in a 3rd world country since my kids seem to get this parasite and no of our friends get it.
This was the medicine that Andrew tried to drink the whole bottle of at once. Lily doesn't like medicine like Andrew does and she doesn't take much. In fact the last time she took a antibiotic she was 7 months old. The pharmacist had me try the medicine and it was so bitter with a long after taste. It was good I tried it, so that I would have more sympathy for her. For 10 days every 6 hours I had to hold her down and shove the medicine down her throat. Lily would run away when I got it out and cry telling me how icky it was. (heart breaking) I had to set my alarm for 1 am to wake her up and give her the medicine. Oh it was a fun 10 days :/

Andrew was such a good encourager telling Lily to just swallow it quickly and it would be over. He enjoyed getting to drink gatoraid and enjoying the candy bribes that I tried to help get Lily to take the medicine.

After Lily got better Andrew got sick a few times in the night. One morning Lily woke him up at 6 am and he fell asleep in the recliner like this! My kids never fall asleep anywhere except their beds and usually after about a hour long protest. So I knew he wasn't feeling well to fall asleep in the chair. I have fond memories of sleeping in recliners as a kid growing up.
Andrew was a little sick and missed 1 day of school, Bobby, William and I got head colds. Thankfully we are all better now. I hope we can stay healthy for a while now :)
I did so much laundry this past month with the tummy stuff that my washing machine went out. I am excited that I am getting a new washer and dryer delivered today!
