A cut above the rest

Bobby has been busy in the garage enjoying the beautiful weather and breaking in some new tools. Here is a end grain cutting board that he made out of black walnut and rock maple wood. This was his first project using a more expensive wood, he found it at a lumber yard in Fort Worth that sells all different kinds of wood in hard to get widths and thickness. I think it turned out great. I told Bobby he will have to make the first cut on it because it is too pretty.

On ebay these sell for $150.00 Bobby made it for $30.00, but my favorite thing is that I can say that my hubby made it for me.

Bobby's favorite way to relax when he is not studying or working.
A action shot. (When I took this picture Bobby was laughing because, if the saw was on and he was feeding wood through he would not be smiling and looking at the camera unless he wanted to loose some fingers, however I think it is a cute picture.)

I can't wait to see what his next project is.
