Kindergarten Recitation

Andrew’s school had their recitation last week. In the classical schools the kids recite what they are learning for their parents. They do lots of memory songs to learn different things. Andrew kept us in suspense not telling us what they were going to preform. Kindergarten recited the days of the week, months of the year and counted to 30.
Andrew did a great job preforming, he has had plenty of practice with all of his preschool performances. We sat on the opposite end of where Andrew was sitting so my pictures aren’t that great. Kindergarten was the first to preform and I was unsure about going to the front to take pictures since this was our first event like this.  Next year I will know to get up front to get a better picture, I am thankful I had my camera lens on that lets me zoom in from far away.

Andrew’s class wore uniforms but every other grade dressed up in costumes about what they recited. Kindergarten and first grade sang their’s as a group but 2nd grade and up recited a couple of sentences all by themselves into the microphone. I was impressed they all were so brave.

They danced for a little bit of the counting song.

Andrew is doing well in kindergarten, the whole family has adjusted to the change in routine. It is neat to see how much he has learned in the few short weeks that he has been in school. Andrew doesn’t tell me much about his day, but he always tells me who got in trouble that day and what they did. Andrew loves P.E. he is the only kindergartener in P.E. and he tells me all the time that the other kids think he is 6 years old because he looks big :) It is adorable what is a big deal to him.
