My Kindergartener

The time has come… it used to feel like this far off event, when Andrew would start school. Then I blinked and 5 years flew by. Andrew has been looking forward to kindergarten all summer.
First day dressed and ready to go.

This picture describes the morning perfectly, Lily excited, Andrew not wanting his picture taken and Will snacking. I am still trying to get used to the new routine of getting everyone up and out the door on time.
Sitting at his table waiting for class to start.
I was so nervous the first day for Andrew and I did ok not crying until I turned around to take this picture and saw how little the kids looked and how they looked excited but unsure about the first day. There are 12 kids in Andrew’s class and at least 6 or more are boys. Andrew goes to a university model school so he goes to school 2 days a week and the other 3 days I do homework with him. We are all figuring out how to do the homeschool portion of his school. They provide all of the material.
Andrew is taking PE and they have to change clothes for PE. I was so nervous about this, but here he is on the first day. I picked him up after PE and he was all changed and had a great first day. I have already had to get his belt out of the lost and found on the second week of school. That is what I was nervous about. making sure all of his clothes made it home from school.
We got frozen yogurt after the first day of school to celebrate. Andrew wanted to show his Texas Tech pride in the picture. One day of kindergarten down and he is already planning where he want to go to college.

Lily enjoying the after school treat.

We have done 2 weeks of school. Andrew enjoys school and every once in a while he will tell me a little bit about school.
