New Wheels

It is official Bobby and I have traded in the "hot tamale" for a "swagger wagon."  Friday was a long exciting day for us.  Here is how it happened.

Bobby was off and we wanted to do something fun so we went to the museum.  It was the longest ride ever because the a/c was not working in my car, but Andrew had his heart set on taking daddy to see the movie about dinosaurs.  On that drive Bobby and I decided it was time to try to buy a new car for me.  The a/c has been acting up over the past month randomly and we didn't want to spend money fixing it, when we knew we were needing a bigger car very soon.
The boys watching the movie.  After the museum we endured another hot drive to Nana's house.  There the kids napped while Bobby researched minivans.  We had already test drove and decided on the make and model we just hadn't found one in the color I wanted.  I cleaned out my car in the 100 degree heat and helped with the research too.  We headed to Denton that evening hoping to come back with a minivan.
My last picture with the "hot tamale" or lighting McQueen and Andrew called her.  This is the car we took both Drew and Lily home from the hospital in.  It was bittersweet, but we are excited for the new life that is joining our family and the new memories we will have in "the beast."  Thankfully the a/c worked when we traded it in and on the hour drive to Denton!
Our new car " The Beast" we drove home on Friday night.  I am still adjusting to the image of being a minivan mom, but I am loving the new car feel and how easy it is to get the kids in and out.  I still call it a car, I just can't say van yet.  Give me time to adjust.  I have enforced the "no eating rule" for 2 full days now, that won't last forever but it is nice for now. We are thankful for the Lord's provision and timing.  It felt crazy on Friday but we had decided on this a month ago and got the price we were hoping for.  The best part is they had 3 vans, white, silver and this pewter color.  They all were the same price with about the same amount of miles on them and I got to pick which one I liked the best.  This was very fun for me and felt like I was buying a new car.  I had been concerned about having to settle for a color I didn't like much, since we were buying used and in the end I got the color I wanted.  This is my first car to drive that is not a shade of red!
A cute picture of the kids earlier in the week at the museum.  We went twice last week because it is fun and it was too hot to be outside.  Andrew was very concerned after this trip about dinosaurs not being nice and eating animals and people. He wants every animal to be nice and eat grass.
