The Hatchet

I got Bobby a hatchet for his Valentines and early anniversary present.  This hatchet has the initals of the man who forged it on the hatchet and his picture is in the book it came with.  It was neat to read about tools handmade with pride like in the olden days before everything got made in China.  On youtube we were able to watch a video of the hatchets getting forged in Sweden.

Bobby graciously let me take the first swing with the hatchet.  I instested on a photo shoot let my kids see that I was a mom who was not afraid of a little yard work.  As the years go by I will tell them that I chopped that I took the whole tree stump out with the little hatchet all by myself.  :)

Andrew enjoyed getting his hands on it too.

I tried to get a picture of Bobby with his gift but Andrew kept trying to take it from him.  Bobby is really hard to get a gift for so it was fun to find something that he likes. He thinks it is crazy that I took pictures and wrote a blog post about this but if I don’t post it we won’t remember and the pictures of Andrew are cute.
