Happy Birthday Lily

Happy Birthday Lily!  Yesterday was Lily’s birthday day, it is hard to believe that a year has gone by since the first time I held Lily in my arms.  When Lily was born she was crying, I got her in my arms and she heard my voice and she looked me in the eyes and immediately calmed down.  Then we had looked at each other for a few minutes.  It was so peaceful and it was so neat to see the moment when she met the “voice” that she heard for nine months.

Lily has brought so much joy to our house, she is quick to give a smile, giggle or snuggle.  She is still a easy going baby and doesn’t have a strict schedule.  She loves to eat, adores her big brother, can melt her daddy’s heart in 2 seconds, and loves to be in her momma’s lap.
Lily got to eat a banana muffin and raspberries for her birthday breakfast.  We are saving the cake for her party this weekend.
We went outside in the morning and I tried to get a few pictures of the birthday girl but it was still chilly and she wasn’t in the mood for posing.
Andrew joined in on the fun.  He had a blast celebrating Lily’s birthday
Lily got a sand and water play table from Bobby and I.  Andrew had a lot of fun showing Lily how to play with the sand. It was too chilly for the water side, so we will save that for another day.
 Lily’s first experience with sand.
She liked it, but I had to keep a close eye on her to keep it out of her mouth.
Andrew played with the table all day.  One of the perks to having siblings is another birthday to celebrate and for now, toys that they can share.
Nana came over to see the birthday girl play in the sand.
Mindy also came by and took lots of great pictures and helped my carry and dump the heavy sand in the table.  We spent the day at home playing and letting Lily nap when she wanted to.  Andrew took Lily to Dollar Tree and got her 2 balloons and a Elmo book for her birthday.  He even let her hold the balloon string in the cart and he was okay with not getting a balloon or book for himself.  I am proud of him for that!  Lily went to bed at 7:30 and slept great all night after a fun day of celebrating!

This morning I took Lily to her 12 month check up at the doctors office.  She weighs almost 18 pounds and is 27 inches long she is in the 5th percentile for both.  The doctor said she is doing great and is the size God wants her to be.  Lily’s hemoglobin was low so she is starting a iron supplement for a few weeks and she had a ear infection.  So she will be starting antibiotics for that.

Last week Lily started saying “muma” to me!  On her birthday she said “momma” several times to me.  Lily has also started pulling up a lot more this week.  She still loves to be on her knees, but is getting on her feet more and more.
Lily is getting more comfortable on her feet, 2 weeks ago she hated standing like this, she is starting to tolerate more now.  Last week she was screaming very dramatically I come out to see what is going on and she had crawled over to the coffee table, pulled up to standing and was very unhappy.
Lily showing off her drinking from a cup skills.
Lily now can feed her self with a spoon.  She has been doing this for about a week and loves grabbing the spoon from me and showing me how she can do it by herself.

Words can’t express how much I love Lily!  Bobby and I often look at her in amazement at how beautiful she is inside and out.  I can’t wait to see what the next year holds for my little girl, to see more of her personality, hear more of her sweet voice and cheer her on as she takes her first steps.

Happy Birthday baby girl, you are loved and cherished by our King Jesus and by your mom and dad!
