Saturday in September

Bobby has had to work a lot of weekends lately and the heat is keeping us cooped up in our house too much.  It is not much fun when Bobby has to work all weekend because during the week we meet up for play dates and such but on Saturday everyone does the family stuff.  I am not trying to have a pity party, that is just what it is like for us right now.

So today started off well, Andrew used the potty all morning and didn’t wet in his diaper at all.  He and I played t-ball while Lily napped, we watered the flowers, colored with markers, played with blocks and cleaned up the house. We ate lunch played with Lily, watched Elmo’s potty video (I know all the words to the songs now and a lot of the script lines too.)  We ate lunch and I was tired  and Lily napped early this afternoon, so I tried to put Andrew down early.  Big mistake, anyways at 1:30 everyone was up and “rested.”  It was a crisp and cool 94 degrees outside so I decided we should head to the zoo to pass some time.  We had fun, it was hot, poor Lily looked really hot, but she stayed happy.

We hung out in the fish and reptile house for a long time, because it is air conditioned.

Andrew has a crazy cheesy face now.  This picture makes me think of Bobby.  Andrew definitely has his dad’s photogenic nature.  Andrew is so social now, he made 4 new friends in the hour that we were at the zoo, they all were boys about 4-5 years old.  Andrew and the boys would talk about the animals. I still get so excited when I hear Andrew talking to other kids.  He used to be really shy and quiet and that seems to be changing more and more.

The elephant was the animal that Andrew really wanted to see today.

Andrew got the duck or boat as he calls it out of the bathroom to prove to me that he still can fit in it.
Then he wanted Lily to sit with him.  This is right before he push/ rolled her out of the boat.  She didn’t cry at all, she is going to be one tough little lady.  I am having to watch Andrew more now that Lily interacts with him on the floor, he likes to "log roll” her because I do that with her during tummy time.  His heart is sweet he is just playing with her and Lily usually loves it, it just makes me nervous.

In the blink of an eye my baby turned into a little boy.
